Het begint met een gewicht. Een lichte, zekere aanwezigheid tegen het sleutelbeen: de stille zekerheid van 14-karaats goud, verwarmd door de huid die het draagt. In het midden ligt een blauwe topaas van serene diepte, waarbij het oppervlak van 6 bij 4 millimeter het licht niet in een flits opvangt, maar in een langzame, vloeibare glans.

Het oneindigheidssymbool, een doorlopende band van gepolijst geel goud, wikkelt zich in een ononderbroken lijn om de steen. De curve is een studie in terughoudendheid, een pad zonder begin en zonder einde, gemaakt om plat en dichtbij te liggen. Verspreid langs de onderste boog bieden minuscule diamanten van in totaal 0,023 karaat een vleugje contrast, een subtiel sterrenbeeld dat zich alleen in bepaalde bochten openbaart.

Dit is een stuk voor het rustige moment. Voor de hand die omhoog reikt, terwijl de vingertoppen de gladde metalen lus volgen en troost vinden in zijn voortdurende beweging. De ketting van 16 tot 17 inch past zich aan de precieze lengte aan die aanvoelt als die van jou, waardoor de hanger geen sieraad is, maar een onderdeel van het landschap van je dag.
