Er is een rustig moment in het atelier waarop een ontwerp een schets overstijgt en iets wordt dat je kunt vasthouden. Het is in die ruimte van gefocuste creatie waar dit stuk werd geboren: een enkele, gebeeldhouwde achtste noot, waarvan de curve voor altijd vastgelegd is in massief 14-karaats geel goud.

In het hart rust een parel van 4 mm, geselecteerd vanwege zijn zachte, organische glans. Het zetten van een parel vereist een bijzonder geduld; de ring is gevormd met een zachte druk die omhult zonder te verdringen, waardoor de natuurlijke glans van de edelsteen centraal staat. Dit is geen accent, het is de ziel van de noot.

Afzonderlijk gedragen, wordt het een persoonlijke signatuur, een subtiele knipoog naar ritme en pauze. Het vakmanschap zorgt ervoor dat hij dicht bij het oor zit met een doelbewuste, lichtgewicht aanwezigheid, een klein bewijs van het idee dat enkele van de meest betekenisvolle stukken zijn ontworpen voor een solo.
