Er is een bepaalde tint blauw die hoort bij het rustige uur vlak na zonsondergang, wanneer de lucht de laatste herinnering aan licht vasthoudt. Op dat moment zie je misschien een enkele, opzettelijke glans: een punt van diepe, serene kleur tegen een blote oorlel.
Deze oorbel begon met die afbeelding. De vorm is vervaardigd in warm 14-karaats geelgoud en is een studie van strakke lijnen en balans. De op de rand geplaatste saffier, een koel fluweelachtig blauw van 0,067 karaat, wordt met een rustig vertrouwen vastgehouden. Het is niet bedoeld om te schreeuwen, maar om een detail van verfijnd denken te fluisteren. Met een dikte van 32 millimeter volgt hij een sierlijke lijn, een subtiel statement dat op zichzelf zowel persoonlijk als compleet aanvoelt.
