Licht vindt zijn weg door de delicate architectuur van deze oorbellen en blijft hangen op de enkele diamant die als een rustige gedachte langs een dunne draad van 14-karaats geelgoud hangt. Bij vijftig millimeter wordt rekening gehouden met de lengte: lang genoeg om de lijn van een nek te volgen wanneer het hoofd draait, subtiel in zijn statement.

Het ontwerp is er een van verfijnde balans. De diamant, met een precieze waarde van 0,063 karaat, is geen middelpunt maar een leesteken, een punt van koele schittering tegen het warme metaal. De aanwezigheid ervan wordt gevoeld in blikken, een zachte vonk die met je meebeweegt. Het goud zelf voelt substantieel aan, een gewicht van 0,47 gram dat de kwaliteit ervan niet door het gewicht registreert, maar door een consistente, geruststellende aanwezigheid op de huid.

Dit zijn sieraden die zijn ontworpen met het oog van een curator voor lijn en negatieve ruimte, waarbij wat wordt weggelaten evenveel intentie heeft als wat er wel wordt geplaatst.
